My Stylish Home Office

Thanks to my modern designed Jahnke desk and art deco bookshelf, I was able to create a modern and funky home office that suits the needs of my business. As a magazine editor, I consider myself to be modern and of good taste. After the birth of my daughter, I decided I would need to convert the guest bedroom into a functional home office. My office needed to be a place where I could work and be inspired by my surroundings.

I started with natural wood flooring and neutral colored walls. I removed the curtains from the windows and replaced them with modern black shades pulled partially down. My desk was delivered and fit perfectly in the corner of the room. My bookcase was a special find at a local woodworking shop. It has various curves instead of straight lines that make it appear to wind over each shelf repeatedly. I added some modern art pieces including glass vases and a rock fountain. I completed my home office with a poster sized magazine cover from the first issue I ever edited.
