A Brief History Of Pocket Watches

November 30th, 2011

Everything has its beginning. And if you believe that time starts from somewhere, also consider the beginning of time measurements.

Early people have devised a system to tell the exact date. But a device that exactly tells the precise time comes much later. Water clocks, sundials, and candle clocks are the earliest instruments that somehow manage to tell time but accuracy is far from achievable.

In the 13th century, weight-driven clocks were developed. It used gears while hour hand was already used while the minute hand was an indication of luxury and wealth. The weight-driven clocks were publicly displayed on church towers, city halls, and monasteries.

In the 16th century, clocks were produced using spring instead of weight. The portable clocks or the pocket watches were the first timepieces that the public can own. During this time, the only persons who can own them were the rich and owning one signified the status, authority, and wealth of the person. Often, portable watches were placed on the wall of the house. The term portable though did not mean it could be carried on your pocket. The term changed its meaning some years later.

The first transportable watches or pocket watches was used also in the 16th century. This time, clocks no longer had to stay at one place. Pocket watches can already be worn around the neck or carried on a pocket. The same era also brought revolution to the development of pocket watches. Mechanisms were introduced to bring time-telling precision. Some packet watches even had an alarm.

The entry of the 17th century made pocket watched even more desirable. The box-like image was removed and was replaced by more rounded and slimmer cases. Clockmakers also became instant artists as they infuse designs and craftsmanship to every pocket watch the made.

When Christian Huygens discovered the law of pendulum, which for your information was different from Galileos, clock had yet again moved one step further. The law proved to be very helpful in the development of pocket watches.

In the 18th century, pocket watches continued to evolve. This time, jewels were used as bearings. Diamonds became part of some pocket watches that boosted the price of a single pocket watch to the ceiling. Oil was also became part of pocket watches during this period. This was to lubricate and smoothen the movement of the watchs hands. In the second half of the 18th century, pocket watches were produced with three hands. Contrary to the inclusion of the minute hand during the 16th century, second hand made sense since accuracy in telling time was far better.

In the 19th century came the glory days of the packet watches. This era brought the several watchmakers into the picture. Names such as LeCoultre & Cie, Ulysse Nardin, Minerva, Heuer, IWC, and many others were established in this period. The quality of pocket watches became better than ever.

By the turn of the 20th century, certificates were issued to those watchmakers that created precise watches. Unlike the previous years, issuance of certificate became more of a requirement than luxury.

And as the years gone by, the popularity of pocket watches diminished as wristwatches became more popular.

Although pocket watches are not so much used today, it has served as one of the important instruments for several centuries.

You can then examine them thoroughly and bookmark them as your favourites so that you can refer back to them later. The internet is very useful to find the best hiking parks and hiking trails around, the ones that suit you and your needs.

The Beauty of a Glass Top Humidor

November 30th, 2011

In addition to a standard humidor, travel, cabinet, and glass top humidors bring joy to the true cigar aficionado. For the cigar smoker who may not need the massive design of a cabinet humidor but still wants to add weight to his or her prized collection of fine cigars, glass top humidors are an excellent selection. The term glass top humidor does not refer to the design or materials used in the manufacturing of the humidor. Instead, a more common understanding of the glass top humidor is desktop humidor.

The glass top humidor is very popular for several reasons. First, the investment necessary to purchase a glass top humidor is much less than for a cabinet humidor. A search on the internet reveals that there are countless glass top humidors for less than $200 that come in untold designs, shapes and quality. The average cigar capacity of a glass top humidor can vary from smaller units that hold 25 or so cigars to larger units that keep upwards of 200 cigars.

Anyone needing to maintain more than 200 cigars will need to research buying a smaller chest size humidor or a small to large cabinet humidor. As with cabinet humidors, the most common interior wood is the Spanish cedar wood for its quality in maintaining humidity levels and for adding rich flavors to the cigar.

One additional offering with glass top humidors is that they will almost always offer external hygrometers (the gauge for determining the internal humidity levels.) This is extremely important for two reasons. For one, if the glass top humidor needs to be opened each time to determine the humidity levels, each time the case is opened, the humidity level will fluctuate. This can lead to the humidifier being overworked and possibly failing. Secondly, one must observe and monitor the levels to determine the effectiveness of any humidor and if there is a failure in the humidifier.

Again, glass top humidors, also referred to as desktop humidors, are a small investment and can be enjoyed by any cigar aficionado.

Lenders And Refinancing

November 29th, 2011

Refinancing is a common practice adopted mostly for home loan facilities. Refinancing is nothing but to pay off the old debt and taking a new one. The major reason for refinancing is to reduce interest rate. Reduced interest rate is nothing but less to pay every month and thus increase in the monthly income at hand. Refinancing happens all over, the only point to be taken into consideration is the right time to take refinancing options.

There are many reasons for refinance, the major ones according to Fanniemae being a. To reduce the interest rate. b. To build equity faster c. Change the loan type to one that is more feasible and more attractive. e. Improved credit rating. F. To draw equity on home that is already built. The major reasons are only two and that is to reduce interest and to increase the equity. The interest rate again depends on the discount point, which you can produce at the time of refinancing. For example if the interest rate is 7% then with a discount point the interest rate reduced to 6.75%. . With the array of different types of lenders and brokers, the borrower is at an advantage to choose his lender according to the interest and various schemed offered to him.

The various eligibility for applying for refinance depends on various factors like, how much is the existing mortgaging amount. For how long is the refinancing facility. How many years is the mortgage left? What would be interest amount saved etc., While applying for refinancing facility the lender always checks various details of the borrower like e.g., the source of income for the borrower, his credit rating, if a mortgage exist then what is the amount of mortgage, the term of the mortgage.

Therefore the advantage of refinancing depends on the reduction of the interest or the lesser money he has to pay towards mortgage, the costs involved towards refinancing and how much the borrower is able to save money over the life of the loan. Costs plays an important part and the borrower has to see to it that the costs involved is not more that the mortgage left to pay. Thus refinancing is an boon to the borrowers particularly in the US where the array of lenders and brokers can give a borrower a good deal.

Monaco The Wealthy Conclave of Europe

November 29th, 2011

Perched over the Mediterranean Ocean, Monaco is a picturesque country. With very high prices, most travelers can only afford to spend one day in this conclave for the rich.

Monaco

The principality of Monaco is a bizarre little place. Situated to the east of the French Riviera, the country is very small and dominated by the city of Monte Carlo. Everything in the principality caters to the wealthy, so budget travelers beware.

Historically, the Grimaldi royal family has and continues to dominate Monaco. There influence is everywhere and, as youve probably noticed, one of them seems to be in tabloid news every day. Regardless, they have managed to stay in power for hundreds of years and turned Monaco into the expat haven of Europe through lax tax laws.

Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo is the only city of significance in Monaco. The city is perched above the ocean and fairly dramatic. There is an old Europe charm, but modern hotels, resorts and so on are blended in nicely. Instead of Ford or Toyota dealerships, Monaco is peppered with Ferrari and Porsche stores. This upgrade in cost occurs consistently throughout the city and it is the only place Ive ever paid $75 for dinner in a Mexican restaurant.

No mention of Monte Carlo would be complete without mentioning Formula One racing. Every year, the city hosts the Monaco Grand Prix on the tiny streets of the city. The race is a bit boring because it is nearly impossible to pass, but attending the race is definitely something you should do at least once.

The Monaco Grand Prix is the coming out party for the extremely wealth. The harbor is full of yachts that make an oil tanker look small. There is more jewelry and glitz than you can possibly imagine. The decadence factor is through the roof and the people watching aspect is incredibly entertaining. Although you may come away a bit disgusted by the over indulgence, youll definitely come away with some good stories.

Monaco and Monte Carlo are definitely worth a one-day trip if you are visiting the French Riviera. Just make sure youve warmed up your credit cards.

Cooking Food

November 29th, 2011

People all over the world eat cooked food, but people in different countries cook their food differently. Most people in this country like to eat meat, fish and vegetables cooked, but there are some people who like to eat raw fish. With the expectation of some vegetables and fruits, most of the food eaten is cooked to a greater or lesser degree. The reasons for cooking food are:-

1. To soften the food so that it can be more easily digested.

2. To improve the flavor of food. The flavor of the meat and fish is greatly improved by cooking.

3. To improve the appearance of food, as uncooked meat or fish is objectionable to some people.

4. To kill germs so that the food is safe to eat.

5. To vary the flavor of the food. Different methods of cooking and the addition of different ingredients and flavoring give a wide variety of flavors to food.

There are many methods of cooking food as below:-

Boiling

Food is cooked in boiling liquid tell tender. Vegetables should be put into boiling water and boiled quickly, while meat should be put into cold water and brought up to the boil when making soup, or put into boiling water for stews. When boiling meat, the temperature is lowered to simmering point as soon as the water boils, otherwise the protein in meat will harden and will be difficult to digest. Fish is put into boiling water and simmered till cooked. If it is allowed to boil all the time the fish will break up. Boiling food to cook it partly is called parboiling. Slow boiling so that the liquid bubbles slowly all the times and only a little steam is given off is called simmering.

Stewing

This is long, slow cooking in a little liquid. This is a good method of cooking, as cheaper and tougher pieces of meat can be cooked with other ingredients to make them and better flavored. Stewing should be done in a pan with a lid, as foods become tender more easily in a closed pan where the steam cannot escape too easily. It is also an easy method of cooking as very little attention is required when the food is slowly stewing.

Steaming

Food is cooked in steam from boiling water. Only tender bits of food should be steamed. It is a slow method of cooking but it makes food easy to digest. Delicately flavored foods are best steamed as no flavor is lost during cooking, so the food retains all its own flavor. Steaming can be done by the following methods:-

1. In a steamer which sits over a saucepan of boiling water. Steam rises from the boiling water and passes through the steamer to cook the food.

2. In a frying pan of boiling water. The food is put in a steaming tray which rests on a stand in the frying pan. A well fitting lid covers the tray and steam from boiling water cooks the food. This method is faster than the first method.

3. In saucepan with a tight fitting lid.

a) Food is placed in a bowl or basin which stands in a saucepan of boiling water that comes up to half way up the side of the bowl, or placed on rice which is about to cook.

b) Food is placed on a plate and is covered with the saucepan lid. The plate is placed on top of the saucepan which is half filled with boiling water.

Frying

This is a very quick method of cooking and is the most popular method of cooking in this country. There are three methods of frying:-

1. Dry frying where no oil is used at all as in frying peanuts or coconuts. The food is put into a clean, dry frying pan and is stirred over a slow fire until the food is evenly browned and cooked.

2. Shallow fat frying where a little oil is used to prevent the food from sticking to the frying pan, as in frying eggs, pancakes or vegetables. When vegetables are fried, they are tossed in a little fat which is absorbed by the vegetables. This method of cooking vegetables is also called sauteing.

3. Deep fat frying where food is cooked in at least 2″ of hot oil. There must be enough oil to completely cover the food when the food is first put in. This method of frying is used for curry puffs, fry chicken and many other dishes.

Grilling

This is cooking food directly over hot charcoal or under the electric or gas grill, as in cooking barbecue chicken or making toast. This is a very quick method of cooking and only very tender pieces of good should be cooked by this method.

Baking

This is to cook food in the heat of an oven as in baking cakes, pastries, biscuits and bread. The hot oven heats up the air inside it and food is cooked by the hot air. Care must be taken to cook the food thoroughly without burning it.

Roasting

This actually means cooking over the open fire, but with the introduction of the oven, it has now become very much like baking, except that fat is added to prevent the food from drying and burning and also to improve the flavor.

Heart Health with Essential Fatty Acids

November 29th, 2011

Why should I increase my Omega fatty acid intake?
Our intake of essential fatty acids has changed radically in the last century. Our ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 should be close to 1:1, but it is now over 10:1 and up to 20:1. This is due to the addition of corn, sunflower, safflower, sesame and other Omega-6 oils to our food supply. Such excesses are thought by many scientists to be a factor in a number of chronic medical conditions including arthritis, cardiovascular disease, asthma, acne, obesity and depression. It is clear that we need to increase our intake of Omega-3 fatty acids and decrease our intake of Omega-6 (linoleic acid) oils. By doing so we will be, look and feel healthier.

What are good fats and bad fats?
Fat is a concentrated source of energy. This source of energy is very useful during aerobic exercise. The longer the exercise, the higher the fat contribution for providing energy. Fat is particularly used in large quantities in the brain and nervous system. There are two types of fat: saturated and unsaturated. Unsaturated fats are commonly referred to as “good” fats, and should make up the greatest percentage of your fat intake.

UNSATURATED
Unsaturated fats, “good fats” are liquid at room temperature, and remain in liquid form even when refrigerated or frozen.
Good fats are part of the essential fats: omega 3 and omega 6, both of which are unsaturated fats.

What are EPA and DHA?
These are two specific essential fatty acids found in fish oil. Both Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) have been well documented in regulating cellular functions and promoting good health. Diets deficient in EPA and DHA have been associated with a number of health problems, most notably cardiovascular disease.

What is GLA and how is it different from other Omega-6 sources?
GLA (Gamma Linolenic Acid) is an Omega-6 fatty acid found in high amounts in borage oil, and to a lesser degree in black currant and evening primrose oils. In contrast to the sunflower, safflower and other Omega-6 oils, the presence of GLA in borage oil results in very different physiological effects. Linoleic acid in its current dietary excess promotes inflammation due to the production of arachidonic acid (AA). GLA on the other hand, actually interferes with the production of AA and decreases inflammation. GLA has been used with success in treating various medical conditions, most notably rheumatoid arthritis and eczema. Emerging science also indicates that GLA has synergistic activities with the Omega-3 marine-derived DHA and EPA, particularly in cardiovascular health and fat metabolism.

We all want to be healthy, happy and fit with enough energy for work and for play. A well-balanced diet, exercise, and enough rest go a long way in helping us get the most out of life. And essential fatty acids (EFAs) have been proven to help us achieve healthier and happier lives. These good fats’ truly are essential and the majority of us are not consuming enough of the well-researched Omega fats. Now getting the right amount of Omegas to suit your specific health needs is easier than ever.

Where do essential fats come from?
Sources of Omega 3 and Omega 6 essential fats:
Cold Water fish such as Salmon (coho, king and pink), sardines, cod, albacore tuna, trout, halibut , herring. (these fish are also a great source of Omega 6, but are predominantly richer in Omega 3)
Flaxseeds and green leafy vegetables are great sources of Omega 3.
Sesame and sunflower seeds and other seeds and nuts are great sources of Omega 6.
Borage oil and evening primrose oil are rich sources of GLA which is part of the Omega 6 essential fats.

Where do saturated fats come from?
Saturated fats contain large amounts of saturated fatty acids. Saturated fatty acids are named so, because they are “saturated” with hydrogen, meaning they have only single bonds between carbon atoms, leaving no room in their chemical structure for additional hydrogen atoms. Saturated fats are typically solid at room temperature.

Varieties of Saturated fat include: Butter, coconut and palm oils and lard.

Benefits
aid in balancing the autoimmune system
treats skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis
cardiovascular health

Reading Fiction – Where is Your Favorite Place to Indulge?

November 29th, 2011

Do you have a special place where you like to read? Is it somewhere that feels strange to be empty handed? The ties between what we read and where are sometimes so strong that it is difficult to change. Did you ever try to read say a business book where youd normally sit to read a novel? Did you struggle to get through more than a few pages? Our minds associate certain activities with certain positions and sometimes this can be difficult to break. Instead of trying to fight it, it may be better to find a location to suit the type of reading youd like to do. In this article, Im going to cover a few common venues and recommend reading material to suit.

1.At work. Reading a novel while sitting at my desk in front of my computer feels downright weird to me. To be honest, reading anything other than business material can be difficult. Of course, because of my job as editor of Espresso Fiction Im often reading short stories while sitting at my desk and that feels OK. In fact, when I find a story that I really get into, its a complete break as I have no awareness of other noises or distractions. And when Ive finished I have no sense of time. It usually takes a minute or two and then Im back in the present but for that 15 minutes or so I am somewhere completely different. And thats one of the things I love about fiction; it transports you wherever the author wants to take you.

2.Outside. Lounging by the pool on a sunbed or sitting on the grass is a great spot for reading a gripping novel. That way you can effortlessly block out the surrounding noise. Of course, if you are supposed to be watching children then a novel is not the best choice. You would be wiser to choose something that you can drop in and out of without constantly losing the flow of your reading.

3.Hammock. My husband recently put up ours after I pointedly showed him exactly where it could go and we discussed at length how it could be fixed into place. Boy, did I miss having it. Lying stretched out and staring at the sky and the trees and listening to the birds is a really lovely experience. The only problem with reading in a hammock is staying awake! So choose your material wisely something funny or lively is your best bet if you dont want to drop off to sleep within a few short minutes.

4.In bed. Reading in bed seems to be a very common reading position as its a great way to turn off from the stresses of the day and ease into sleep. Ive found its best not to pick anything too stimulating because my mind starts racing (the very opposite of what I want) or complicated because then I give up without reading more than a page or so (this makes for a very long read and usually ends with me putting the book aside in favor of something else).

5.Sofa. Another great reading venue because your body gets to rest too. This can be a great spot for reading a novel or if time is limited a short story.

6.Coffee Shop. This is the perfect place to read your favorite magazine or short story, something that holds your attention but can tolerate the inevitable interruptions. Both are something you can sink into and pop out of at the other end feeling refreshed.

7.Aeroplane. A long novel that grabs you from the very beginning and doesnt let you go makes time go really fast. If youve ever been on a long flight with a great book and not wanted the flight to end until you finish the book then you will know what I mean.

8.Public transport. Again you need to choose your reading material carefully. A novel which is too engaging may have you missing your stop and hankering to get back to your book as soon as possible. It is better to find material that suits the length of your journey articles or short stories for short trips and magazines and more complex or thought provoking novels for longer journeys. Public transport is a perfect place to daydream so something which requires reflection and thought can be perfect if time allows.

What is your favorite reading venue and position? Do you vary your reading material to suit your location?

Music Subscription Service

November 28th, 2011

Gone are the days when you had to wait, save, and then buy a tape or CD. Remember the days when one person in the gang would buy a CD or tape and the whole gang would share it? Those were the days now you can get music of your choice off the net at very affordable prices. The quality is great and rendition crystal clear.

Music sites are revolutionizing the music industry for as little as $ 6.99 a month. And, its affordable; a subscriber can buy any music for just around 79 cents instead of 99. And, there are sites like RealNetworks where even non subscribers can listen to 25 radio stations a month and 25 songs. The costs vary from site to site but music is there waiting for you.

The technicalities vary but on some sites the songs can be just listened to, others can be downloaded and yet others transferred to portable listening devices. Music is just awaiting music buffs.

Unlike earlier you dont have to spend to listen to a song—you can listen and if you like it then download it. Music sites are emulating the library formats here instead of checking out books you check out music of your choice.

Sites like Yahoo, Rhapsody, Napster, Apple itunes, AOL, Virgin, and All of MP3, among others are all vying to offer the best. Imagine over a million different tunes are just waiting to be heard.

There are three options to choose from: PC listening only, music on a hand held or mobile device, and music for CDs that is permanent ownership. Music has embraced technology much to the delight of one and all. And it is legal and to stay.

What you get by subscribing is: basic juke box functions; the option to buy tracks at a discount; the freedom to listen to unlimited music; transfer to MP3 players; downloading songs for burning on discs (these have to be bought); and loading your PC chock-a block with songs you love.

However, the music can be played only if you keep paying the subscription and you cannot share the music with friends. It is like a candy store so many tastes and colors, how do you choose?

Before you subscribe you must do comparison shopping find out which service is most affordable and easy to use. Check the songs on offer and read the terms and conditions with great care. What is most important is to check compatibilityis the technology being used by the site compatible with your PC, music devices, and hand held devices like IPODs and mobiles? Check if you need to use any standalone software and whether you are comfortable with the tools for transferring music to your PC or other devices.

If any of the sites are offer a free trial take up the offer and enjoy!

Dental Hygiene If I Had Known Then What I Know Now.

November 28th, 2011

Hello all you wonderful people out there. Have you ever thought, If I had known then what I know now. or If I had my life to live over again I would change…?

Actually there is not too much I, personally would have done differently. But there is definitely one health related subject I would like to have known more about and adhered to: early childhood hygiene practices.

I had problems with my teeth from the minute go. I had to have fillings, root canal work, tooth extractions. You name it, I had it. Even eating all those taffy apples and other candy (especially at Halloween) would have been alright if only I had known about and practiced proper (and I mean proper) gum and health hygiene. Call it hindsight.

Ironically, at this stage in my life I frantically take care of the few teeth I can still call my own. I brush my teeth (and gums) as soon as I get up in the morning and after every meal. I use mouthwash regularly. I go for biannual dental checkups. I make it a point to get to a dentist as soon as I suspect the slightest dental problem.

In our day and age anything can happen. My next statement may sound a little bizarre – like something out of science fiction – but so did reaching the moon fifty years ago. I visualize people in this lifetime cutting a third set of teeth. Wouldnt that be something! So lets not waste time. Lets brush up on gum and mouth hygiene practices. Lets promote dental hygiene whether through annual dental hygiene week for kids or dental hygiene shirts or whatever.

And dont forget folks keep smiling!

Don’t flex that muscles too much!

November 28th, 2011

Muscle injuries occur when we overuse or strain our bodies. Anyone who had experienced muscle problems will tell you that they are extremely painful and can be disruptive to everything you do. There are numerous types of muscle injuries since our bodies are mostly composed of hundreds of them. Usually, athletes are the most prone to muscle injuries because of their rigid training, heavy work outs and other activities that needs maximum physical strength. Muscle injuries must be looked up to immediately so as not to re-injure the area of the severed muscle over and over. The more you use the injured muscles, the more that you will harm yourself and it will prolong the healing time and ultimately you risk permanent damage.

CD Label Makers

November 28th, 2011

The CD label market is on an upward swing since the explosion of computer awareness and release of user-friendly printing software on the market. People are eagerly switching to easy and innovative ways of CD labeling, and companies are investing money in research to come up with even faster and more user-savvy labeling options. The CD label makers are also cashing in on the increasing laser and ink jet label market.

Many methods are used to commercially label the CDs. Out of these, screen, offset, pad and flexographic printing are widely used. These involve large-scale processes used to label a huge quantity of CDs carrying the same pattern, or in the instance where exact matches of shades are required.

A number of CD labeling software programs available in the market enable you to use only a specific brand of paper. Using some innovative labelers like the Audio Label CD labeler, you can print your CD with any kind of paper. Similarly, there are CD label makers present in the industry which arrange the text of the label in such a way that it fits into the space you want, so the text never goes off track. This is particularly useful when you want to add a large track list and you can have the pleasure of admiring a neat label every time you use the machine.

Clip art is a rage with many businesses, and CD label makers are increasingly adding the art gallery in CD label machines. Users can quickly browse through the given images and insert the choicest figures and impressions on the labels.

Before placing your order with a commercial CD label maker, find out about his equipment and the technology he uses. Ask for some past references and ensure his shipment time. If you are ordering labels from some overseas suppliers you will have to calculate the costs involved in imports plus the time consumed in the delivery of your CD labels.

Your Body Is An Engine

November 28th, 2011

Growing up around surface coal mining and machines with engines, I learned a lot about how engines work and the basics that they need. Now today learning about nutrition I find some similarities. Stay with me here. It will make sense, I hope. The needs of your body are similar to the needs of the engine in your car. These needs are Fuel, Air, and Spark. By the way, you must have realized by now that I am a very simple minded person with a very simple mind. To simplify, this article I will address just one of these needs. Fuel

Compare this: Your car engine needs fuel. So does your body.

The gasoline you put in your car has to be clean with no pollutants. If it is contaminated you will experience symptoms. Lack of power especially when needed like going up a hill, spit sputter and backfiring, your engines way of saying Help!! I am not getting the nutrients I need and it may even stop running all together. (Bad, very Bad if this is your body.) To fix the symptoms, all that is needed (if you do this soon enough) is to purge the engine of the impurities and make sure that the new fuel is clean and proper.

Your body is no different, if what you eat is contaminated you will experience the symptoms of being tired, no power, you can also spit, sputter (vomit), and backfire (diarrhea). Again the cure is as easy as giving the body the clean and proper foods it needs. AHH, but now you may ask what are the proper foods.

Remember when you were taught that there were four basic food groups? We were instructed to eat from all four-food groups to get a balanced meal.

1. Dairy
2. Meat
3.
Grain
4. Fruits and vegetables. Sounds easy EXCEPT

YOUR DIET CAN AND DOES CAUSE ILLNESS. SAY WHAT? TED

Have you ever suffered from one of the following? Indigestion, heartburn, tiredness, headaches, mood swings, aching joints, constipation, allergies, hypoglycemia, diabetes, high blood pressure, yeast overgrowth, just to name a few.

The problem may not be just the foods you are eating, but what Foods you are Mixing together that is causing a TOXIC CONDITION in the body, especially in the digestive tract.

OH, now you have really done it. This is sounding too confusing.

Learning about Nutrition is an in-depth study, but you can learn the basic dos and donts.

Here is one easy example, Fruits: The rule for fruit is to eat it alone or leave it alone.

Dont mix with other food groups.

I was taught very young that if you arent learning you are dying. Is it worth the effort??

When you first get up in the morning, are you still tired? Look in a full body mirror, look close, do you like what you see? Is your life abundant and Healthy?

Is re-gifting ethical?

November 28th, 2011

By Jeff Kennedy

Most of the people among us either receive or give at least one re-gift in our lifetime;. The question before us is whether the re-gifting should be avoided or should be carried out as usual.

Many times the original giver of the gift may feel badly once you re-gift the item to someone else. In the situation where the sentiments of the original giver are attached, you should re-think before re-giving the gift. You should consider the feelings of not only the person who gave you the gift, but your feelings as well. Its possible you may feel badly after you re-gift an item given to you by a close member of the family or friend. You may feel awkward in these situations where the sentiments of family members are attached and you should give re-gifting serious thought or avoid it altogether.

Some precaution when re-gifting:

If you do decide to re-gift some of the duplicate gifts you received during a function or a gift that you know youll never use, you should keep in mind several important points:

It is imperative that you avoid re-gifting the same item to the person who has given you the gift.
Never re-gift a gift to someone who knows the person who originally gave you the gift.
Ask yourself if the person who gave you the gift will ever have occasion to visit the home of the person to whom you are giving the gift. If theres any possibility whatsoever, dont do it.
Remove the original wrapping and make sure there are no cards attached to or tucked inside the gift from the original giver. Be sure it is in good condition and carefully remove all traces and hints that the item was already gifted. Then wrap the gift with new paper.
Never re-gift an item that has obviously been used before.
Some gifts may be out-of-date and thus should not be re-gifted.
Do not disclose to the recipient that you are re-gifting.
Ensure the suitability of the item for use by the person to whom you are giving it. Dont just give them any gift because you dont need it or have an extra one.

Re-gifting is Economical:

On occasion you may find that re-gifting is essential for you as you have two or three identical items from different persons. In addition, re-gifting is economical no matter what the item. Instead of the item lying in your drawer, unused, it is going to be beneficial for someone else. This is, of course, if you follow the advice above and make sure the item is suitable to the person to whom you are re-gifting.

I’ve Always Loved To Be Barefoot

November 27th, 2011

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to be barefoot. There is no pair of shoes or sandles that make me and my feet as happy as going barefoot. I think it is the most natural way to be, and so I look for every possible opportunity I can to go barefoot.

I think my love for being barefoot started because I grew up on a lake. From the first sign of summer until practically the first snow my siblings and I were down on our beach with no sign of shoes or sandles. We would run and play for hours barefoot in our sand and in the water. I remember hating it when school started up each year because I knew that I needed to wear shoes to school each day. I also knew, however, that if I was careful, I could slide my shoes off once I was seated at my desk during the day.

If you come to my house today, you will rarely if ever see my feet covered. I just love to be barefoot. Even in the middle of the cold of winter you will not see me walking with socks or slippers in the house. I will be barefoot even if I am freezing cold. I love the freedom of being barefoot, and quite honestly, I love the way that having bare feet regulates my body temperature and keeps me from being too hot.

I’m so thankful that I choose writing for a profession, because whether I am writing at home or at the office I can always write barefoot. My co-workers laugh at me when they come to my office and see that whatever shoes I wore into work are sitting right by my office door. I guess to many people being barefoot sounds unnatural and uncomfortable, but to me, there is no better way to be.

For all of you skeptics out there, I’ll encourage you to take every opportunity you have in the next days and weeks to go barefoot. With summer coming upon us, you should have no lack of opportunity. In fact, this is the best time of year to do this experiment. Wearing sandles rather than shoes is a great first step toward loving being barefoot. When you wear sandles you can just slip them off your feet without the hassles of untying shoes.

I’m telling you, once you start being barefoot you will never go back. Unless, I guess, you are crazy.

Epson Printer- A Must Have Accessory

November 27th, 2011

Okay, you have purchased your new computer, and maybe some office furniture, now it is time to buy the PC accessories you need. One basic computer accessory that almost everyone will need at some point is a good printer. Epson printers offer good quality and a wide range to choose from.

Epson printers come as inkjet printers, photo printers, laser printers, point of sale printers, and all in one printers. Ink jet printers are probably the most widely purchased for home use. Epson printers range in price from $59.99 to $850.00. Prices vary depending upon printing speed, photo capability, ink types, and dpi. For basic home use, the Epson Stylus c68 printer should cover all of your basic needs, and is priced at $59.99 on the Epson website. This Epson printer prints well on paper and photo paper, and has its own individual ink cartridges, which can be a plus budget wise. In standard black text, it prints at speeds up to 17ppm.

If your Epson printer will primarily be used for photos, you may want to consider some of the more expensive models, depending on the quality pictures you want. Some of the higher end Epson printers can actually use archival ink, which is guaranteed to last for a long time, usually even longer than your regular prints from the photo lab. Many of these printers also print on ink jet CDs and DVDs, giving you more options to store your memories.

Epson also features a photo printer called PictureMate, which gives you prints that are comparable or better than your local photo lab prints. The pictures on this printer are said to last up to four times longer, and are stated to be water and smudge proof. On average, your prints will cost you around twenty nine cents each with this printer. If you are a serious photo person, this printer would probably work well for you, assuming it fits into your budget.

Laser printers from Epson range in price from $600-$700, and are Ethernet compatible. If you are running a business, and need a lot of basic black and white documents, a laser printer is probably the best, most cost effective option for you. Laser printers also tend to be much faster than ink jet printers, because they focus more on speed and quantity than quality. Some Epson laser printers also have built in fax machines, letting them serve as two pieces of office equipment in one unit.

Point of sale printers are widely used in large business and retail stores, and Epson is a common preferred brand name.

Many people like the Epson line of all in one printers, as they can do many tasks without having to buy different equipment for each task. These all in one printers are priced from $89 on the low end, to $400 for top of the line. Many of these Epson printers are able to print straight from the memory card of your digital camera, making it much easier to get the prints you need. Some offer both black and white and color copying capabilities. Other models also come equipped to send and receive faxes as well.

Basically, when you are ready to buy your Epson printer, you should think about what its primary function will be, and buy the printer that is best suited for that task and meets your budget. Epson printers come with good warranties, and Epson offers great tech support and customer service, which is always good, especially if you are going to be purchasing one of the more expensive models.

Paris Hilton the Modern Day Aphrodite

November 27th, 2011

The internet was just born and already it has 6 billion websites, one for every person on Earth today. Human beings are obsessed with writing and even more obsessed with Paris Hilton, the number one search on the internet. Lets get to know a little about our modern day Aphrodite aka Venus, the Goddess of Love, Beauty and Sex worshipped by the Greek and Roman people 4 thousand years ago. Paris Hilton proves once again that sex sells both hamburgers and religion.

The Greek Goddess Aphrodite Festival is called the Aphrodisiac, which was celebrated all over Greece especially in Athens and Corinth. Christina Onassis was the heiress of Aristotle Onassis the Greek shipping billionaire. We are talking real money her.. Christina was Aristotles only living child, a real heiress, like Jennifer Gates, 9, and Phoebe Gates, 3, the two daughters of the worlds richest man, send me the Bill Gates, at $51 billion dollars and counting. Bill and Melinda French of Dallas Texas have given so much money to charity that they have completely eradicated poverty in Africa. Paris Hilton, if she is lucky enough to make it into her grandfathers will will be lucky to inherit one million dollars. The One with the money, Paris great grandfather Conrad Hilton, (whose son Nicky was the first husband of Elizabeth Taylor), left the grand total of nothing to his 4 children. He married his third wife at 87 and then left his entire fortune to the Catholic Church. Paris grandfather Barron Hilton went to court to contest the will and he won, becoming the first person ever to defeat the Vatican in court, walking away with a few hundred million. He has 8 kids. They have kids. Paris slice of the pie could be $200,000, walking around money for the Sultan of Brunei, whose oil fields America is now spending its blood to protect. That is hot not.

Being an heiress is normally a mirage, as Christina Onassis can testify to. Have you ever noticed how many pop icons cash in on Jesus story right in their names? Its like peoples minds are like search engines responding either positively or negatively to certain keywords like Paris Hilton. Madonna, the Virgin Mary, Christ Ina Aguilera, Britney Spears, I have a pain in my side, said Jesus. Is that a spear in my ribcage or are you just happy to see me? Jesus Christ was a Jewish Rabbi painted by the Greek New Testament writers with the Godlike qualities of the Greek Goddess Eurynome and Bellerophon and his flying horse Pegasus and several other Greek deities. You can read all about it at The Temple of Love. 20 million Christian and Jewish children lost their lives in WW2 aka The War Against the Jews because according to stories which God of Mount Sinai aka Jesus aka Allah aka Elohim Himself endlessly calls man made legends and fairy tales right in the Holy Bibles, the Jewish people killed this half real half fictitious character 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem. Humans have a problem separating fact from fiction. At least Paris Hilton is a real person. Ive seen her. Ive touched her. Ive kissed her. Her lips are as candy. Her legs are as ladders.

Sex sells. Paris Hilton was a nobody, an extra in a series of B movies until the videotape of her coiting Rick Salomon in 1 Night in Paris showed up on the internet last year at the same time that The Simple Life debuted. People are fascinated by infamy. Did you know that the male cats penis has spines which point backwards? Upon withdrawal of the penis the spikes rake the walls of the females vagina. The female needs this stimulation for ovulation to begin. Paris Hilton, outraged over the release of the video, raked in $400,000 plus a percentage of the profits of the film which shot her to super stardom. Without that video Paris Hilton is serving cocktails at Studio 54 today instead of dancing on the bar topless with the worlds media murdering each other for a snapshot of Paris Hilton half nude.

Paris Whitney Hilton was named after Whitney Houston because her name wasnt famous enough. During the Aphrodite Festival, the Aphrodisiac, in Corinth Greece, the men had intercourse with the Priestesses of Aphrodite. This was considered a method of worshipping Aphrodite. What did you get for Christmas? In the Holy Temple in Jerusalem the Priests lured the people in with The Temple Prostitutes who lived in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. King Solomon who built the Holy Temple had 900 wives, concubines and mistresses. Compared to him Jesus was a mere piker with his Mary Magdalene and a few of her girlfriends. Do you hear what Im saying girlfriend? At least Paris Hilton is a real person.

Aphrodite was born as an 18 year old Paris Hilton in the Sea off of Cyprus after Cronus cut off Uranus genitals and the elder Gods blood and semen dropped on the Sea where they began to foam. Aphrodite rose out of the foam in her 18 year old birthday suit. When did people become so prudish? Going wild over 1 Night in Paris? 4,000 years ago mating with hookers in the Temple was normal. In 1879 William-Adolphe Bouguereau painted the Birth of Venus, (Venus was Aphrodites Roman name), which showed the full face on nude 18 year old Aphrodite being born rising from the sea foam. How did Hugh Hefner get to be called risqu? And where did all the paintings and likenesses of Jesus come from? There isnt one single word of description of Jesus in the Holy Bible or anywhere else.

Sex sold religion then and it still sells it today. The Las Vegas Hilton boasts the worlds largest free standing sign, Welcome Idiots. The hijackers on 911 fully expected to hit the twin towers then immediately wake up in eternal paradise with 72 virgins and wine with no side effects, because they read it in their Bible. Lot, the only righteous man in sin city, (Tony the Ant came in second) Sodom and Gomorrah was saved by God and rewarded with wine and sex with his two virgin daughters. Oscar Goodman, the mayor of Las Vegas with 85% of the vote was the mobs lawyer who represented Meyer Lansky, Ace Rosenthal, Tony the Ant and corrupt San Diego mayor Roger Hedgecock to get the job. He recently said on Television, Those who deface freeways with graffiti should have their thumbs cut off on Television. Violence sells too. At least Paris Hilton is real.

Fasting & Enemas For A Clean Body Detox

November 27th, 2011

A hundred years ago, life was very different here on earth. The air was cleaner and the earth was rich in nutrients. Then, in our need to feed our ever-increasing population, we gradually changed the quality of the air we breathe and our once nutrient rich so.l is now sorely lacking. We now live in world of chemicals and pollutants in our air, water and food.

Our bodies, amazing as they are, were not designed to handle this kind of constant onslaught. Is there anything we can do about it? You Bet! You may feel that you cant change the world, but you can minimize the effects all this has on your body.

Fasting is one of the quickest ways to detox your body and it can be done safely. A three-day fast can do wonders for your body. If you are pregnant or have some chronic health problems then fast only under the supervision of a health care professional.

Our bodies store toxins but wants to rid it self of them. When you do a fast it releases toxins from the tissues and they go into the blood stream. We then can experience things like headaches, fatigue and body aches, smelly stool, etc. Although this may seem unpleasant to experience, the results you get from doing the fast has its reward of a cleaner more alert you.

Have you noticed that when you are ill you dont feel like eating anything? Thats the bodys way of handling whatever is going on. It naturally fasts. Why? Because when you give the digestive system a break, the body can get rid of the toxins and concentrate on immune function, cell growth and cleaning out your colon.

There is a right and a wrong way to fast. Dont do just a water fast. There seems to be a misconception that you only drink water to fast. Not so. As well as 8 to 10 glasses of water you should drink diluted pure juices except for orange or tomato juice. Fresh lemon squeezed into water is great for helping detox the liver. Herbal teas a couple of times a day can be very soothing and satisfying.

As well as doing a fast, it would be very helpful in speeding up the healing and cleansing process by doing enemas. Getting rid of old or impacted feces will greatly aid in your health and well being. A coffee enema works great. Before you put the coffee grounds in the pot, open up a capsule of slippery elm bark and aloe vera and add it to the grounds. Make sure you use purified water, not tap water. Then follow with a lemon cleanse.

Between fasting and colon cleansing, you can detox and cleanse your body and feel great.

I hope this helps.
